OUR STORY

5TH GENERATION RANCH

Heiner Ranch stands as a proud fifth-generation operation, rooted in a legacy of grit, horsemanship, and adaptation. It began as a hardworking dairy farm where draft horses powered the fields and family members learned early the value of long days and steady hands. Those same horses were partners in clearing the land, building fences, putting up hay, and shaping both the land and the character of the generations who followed. As agriculture evolved, so did the ranch, transitioning from dairy into a cattle operation while keeping horsemanship at the heart of daily life. Over time, that deep horse heritage naturally grew into an outfitting business and dedicated horse program, blending working ranch traditions with guiding, riding, and sharing the Western lifestyle with others. Today, the Heiner Ranch carries forward more than a century of knowledge, built on horsepower, family commitment, and a lasting connection to the land.

At Heiner Ranch, our draft and draft cross horses and Mules aren’t just bred for ability — they prove themselves every day through real work in both our outfitting and farm and ranching operations. In the mountains, they carry riders, pack loads, and navigate rugged country with the strength, stamina, and steady minds our program is known for.
